Prysmian Professionals: Graham Anslow

28 March 2018

For our third profile of Professional Electrician who make use of Prysmian Cables, we meet Graham Anslow from Anslow Electrical.

Operating throughout Shropshire and Staffordshire, Anslow Electrical works across both domestic and agricultural projects, purchasing Prysmian Cables once a week for their many jobs.

“I mainly use the domestic grade twin and earth cable 1.0mm 2.5mm 6mm and 10mm for our domestic work and steel wire armoured cable for agricultural projects,” said Graham. “I purchase them from B.E.W. electrical wholesalers in Telford, Shropshire.

Like many other professional electricians, Graham makes use of Prysmian cable because of its quality assurances and performance standards. “The cable really is a dream to work with,” he said. “The quality of the cable really stands out from the way it’s packaged to the plastic drums found on the bigger 6.0/10mm cables. The main way Prysmian out performs all others is how easy the cable can be stripped / 2nd fixed.

“This is most notable when you are 2nd fixing a shower circuit with 10mm cable without the need of too much force. With cheaper, more brittle cable brands, you wouldn’t find the same ease of installation,” continues Graham. “It can be a real hazard for the installers hands when installing that cheap cable as the extra pressure needed can easily cause cuts or bruises.”

Most notable for Graham is the business-sense that Prysmian cables make for his operations. While the cable might be at more of a premium than other brands, the added value that it delivers creates an extra confidence to the installer and means the job can be done well and efficiently, first time.

As Graham notes, “due to the ease of how it strips, the cables make jobs quicker and more profitable. It’s a no brainer to use it!”
